Creating Botanical images was my first passion in photography.  The colors, shapes, forms, and interactions got my creative juices flowing, and they still do! I treated my camera like a microscope and sought to create images that emphasized the details of the botanical subjects. I love what Georgia O’Keefe said about flowers, “When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else.”  I work to emphasize the elegant details of the botanical world.  More recently, I am taken by the larger view of the the botanical world. In photographing flowers and plants in their settings, and in grander garden views, I strive to create images that speak to their relationships in the natural world.
